Pithru
The rice must be kept in a banana leaf (the best) or in a plate only on the daily basis. When you do Pithru kaaryam or Thithi or during Thevasam days it can be kept in floor. When keeping the food a.mantra should be recited. It’s called ‘ Bali Mantra ‘.
” Balir Vibhishano Bheeshama Kabilo Naaratho Arjuna, Mahavishnu Prasaa thoyam Sarve Kruhnandhi Vaishnavaa ”
All the above are the names of great Vishnu bhakthas. By chanting this mantra all these Vishnu bhakthas will take the rice through the Crow and bless the ancestors or Pithru, Pithru in turn will clear all the curses.
” Bhaana Raavana Chandesa Nandhi Brungi Ridaathaya – Mahadeva Prasaathoyam Gruhnandhu Saambhavaa ” if you are a shiv Bhaktha or Smartha chant this. Banasura, Raavanan, Chandikeshwarar, Nandhikeshwarar and Brunki Rishi have the supreme power of appearing power to land at yourn home to bless the home where they promptly keep food for crow. By chanting this sloka, they will appear, take the food & water to Pithru Lola and give it your Pithru.

ferocious
In some of the avataras of Vishnu such as
- Sri Narasimha Avatara, Sri Boovaraha Avatara, Sri Matsyavatara, Sri Kurmavatara, after the enormity of the avatara, Sri Vishnu was too 'ugra' or 'ferocious' and unable to assume his former self.
- At this juncture, Lord Shiva is said to have assumed forms that brought forth a battle between huge Vishnu form and himself at the end of which Shiva is said to have cooled down Sri Vishnu.

In the Harihareshvar Mahatmya there is an interesting mantra that describes three holy places in this earth planet where the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Vamana, left His footprints. The mantra goes as follows:
"Ekam Padam Gayayantu
Makkayantu Dwitiyakam
Tritiyam Sthapitam Divyam Muktyai Shuklasya Sannidhau"
Lord left His
First footprints in Gaya - Place of Form GOD
Second footprints in Mecca - Place of Formless GOD
Third footprints in Shukla Tirtha - Place of No GOD
