Harihara-ksetra is also called Maha-Varanasi. It is situated on the bank of the Gandaki River on the eastern side of the river Alakananda. Here in an ancient temple, Sri Hari and Sri Hara (Visnu and Siva) are manifest in one and the same deity.Nandi and Garuda are facing the sanctum.'
